However, we reserve the right to review the server log files retrospectively if there is concrete evidence of unlawful use.

3) Cookies

To make visiting our website attractive and to enable the use of certain functions, we use so-called cookies on various pages. These are small text files stored on your device. Some cookies we use are deleted after the end of your browser session (so-called session cookies). Other cookies remain on your device and allow us or our partner companies (third-party cookies) to recognize your browser on your next visit (persistent cookies). If cookies are set, they collect and process certain user information such as browser and location data and IP address values. Persistent cookies are automatically deleted after a predefined period, which may vary depending on the cookie.

5) Tools and Miscellaneous

5.1 Google reCAPTCHA

This website also uses the reCAPTCHA function of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, 4 Barrow St, Dublin, D04 E5W5, Ireland (“Google”). This function helps distinguish whether an input is made by a human or abusively via automated processing. The service includes sending the IP address and other data required by Google for the reCAPTCHA service to Google, and is based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR to safeguard our legitimate interest in ensuring that actions on the internet are performed voluntarily and to prevent abuse and spam. Using Google reCAPTCHA may also involve transmitting personal data to servers of Google LLC in the USA.

In case of transmission of personal data to Google LLC in the USA, Google LLC has certified itself under the US-EU Privacy Shield, ensuring compliance with EU data protection standards. The current certificate can be viewed here: www.privacyshield.gov/list

Further information about Google reCAPTCHA and Google’s privacy policy can be found at: www.google.com/intl/de/policies/privacy/

5.2 Google Maps

Our website uses Google Maps (API) from Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, 4 Barrow St, Dublin, D04 E5W5, Ireland (“Google”). Google Maps is a web service for displaying interactive maps to visually present geographic information. Using this service displays our location and facilitates directions.

When accessing pages containing the Google Maps integration, information about your use of our website (e.g., your IP address) is transmitted to Google servers and stored there, potentially including transfer to Google LLC servers in the USA. This occurs regardless of whether you have a Google account or not. If logged in, your data will be associated with your Google account. To avoid this, you must log out before activating the map. Google stores your data (even for non-logged-in users) as usage profiles and analyzes them. Data collection, storage, and analysis are based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, reflecting Google’s legitimate interest in displaying personalized advertising, market research, and optimizing Google websites. You have the right to object to this profiling by contacting Google.
Google LLC is certified under the US-EU Privacy Shield. Current certificate: www.privacyshield.gov/list

You can prevent future data transfer to Google by disabling JavaScript in your browser. Google Maps and map display on this website will then be unavailable.

5.3 Google Web Fonts

This website uses so-called web fonts provided by Google Ireland Limited to ensure consistent font display. When accessing a page, your browser loads the required web fonts into its cache to display texts correctly.
To do this, your browser connects to Google servers, potentially transferring personal data to Google LLC in the USA. Google thus becomes aware that our website was accessed via your IP address. Use of Google Web Fonts serves the legitimate interest of uniform and appealing presentation of our online offerings, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. If your browser does not support web fonts, a standard font from your computer will be used.

If your personal data is processed for direct marketing, you have the right to object at any time, and we will stop processing the data for such purposes.

7) Duration of Storage of Personal Data

The duration of storage is determined by statutory retention periods (e.g., commercial and tax law retention periods). After expiry, data is routinely deleted unless it is still required for contract fulfillment or initiation, or we have a legitimate interest in further retention.
